And like all special Glenmorangie releases this cake-y Single Malt is aged first in ex-Bourbon casks. But then it’s transferred into rare Tokaji Wine casks from Hungary. This Wine is famous for its sweet, raisiny character. And the influence of the barley, the Bourbon, and the Tokaji on the Single Malt reminded Dr. Bill Lumsden — Director of Whisky Creation — of upside down cake. And EVERYONE loves cake… especially when it’s bottled at a perfect 46% ABV.
