Wild Turkey Master's Keep 17 Year Old Bottled in Bond

Wild Turkey returns with the fifth generation of Master’s Keep for their seventeen year-old masterpiece.

In 1869, the Ripy Brothers started distilling on Wild Turkey Hill near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The namesake product became their number one seller and the name of the distillery was changed to reflect that success. The Ripy Family sold the distillery in 1952, and then the normal rounds of mergers and acquisition occurred. Campari Group out of Italy owns them now and they produce a wide range of Bourbons under the very popular Wild Turkey name along with several other brands. All under the watchful eyes and experienced hands of the only father-son master distiller team in the business — Jimmy and Eddie Russell.

As we wrote about before, the first Wild Turkey Master’s Keep was an accident — a bunch of casks were "temporarily" moved to an old stone warehouse, forgotten about, and then rediscovered and released. But the entire Whiskey-drinking world snapped up the bottles faster than the Kentucky Derby. So, Wild Turkey created an annual release. Wild Turkey Master's Keep for 2020 is a seventeen year-old Bourbon Bottled-In-Bond at 50% ABV. It’s only the second release ever from the distillery with the Bottled-In-Bond designation.

Smartass Corner:
Bottled-In-Bond designates a Bourbon where the Spirit comes from a single distillery during a single season’s production, is aged in a federally authorized and guarded (bonded) warehouse, and is bottled at 50% ABV or higher.
